Application Procedures And Payment Method

All travel products sold by KNT (Hong Kong) Limited (“Our company” thereafter) accepts payment methods as below: Paid at our office in person and payment through our website.

[Paid At Our Office In Person]

  1. If customers choose to pay at the office of our company in person, the English full name (same as shown in passport) of the participants / purchasers should be provided for registration. Base on the requirements of different travel products, customers may have to provide the original or duplicate copies of his/her own identity documents. Please ask our staff for details.
  2. Unless there is special arrangement for particular travel products, all reservation requires full payment at the time of application. No deposit paying or allotments holding will be accepted. If such arrangement is accepted for particular travel products, the deadline for paying the remaining due will be explained by staff of our company.
  3. We accept payment by cash, EPS or credit card (additional charges may apply. Please ask our staff) for all reservations and consumptions in our office. If there is special arrangement of paying deposit for particular travel products, the payment method of remaining due could be settled by payment methods shown above or by bank-in transfer.
  4. The remaining due should be settled on or before the deadline that our staff informed. We hold the right to cancel the reservation if the remaining due is not settled on or before the deadline and deposit will be not refunded or transferred to other person or to be used for other travel dates.

[Payment Through Our Website]

  1. Reservation and payment could be settled through our website for some designated travel products. Customers should follow the instructions showed in the website to provide all personal details required.
  2. For travel products which accepted online reservation, payment must be settled the full payment by credit card through the online transaction platform designated, or other payment method as instructed by the website. No deposit paying or allotments holding will be accepted.
  3. We recommend all customers should apply travel insurance if necessary. Our company is not responsible for any risks may occur. Customers are encouraged to choose appropriate travel insurance according to the activities that they are going to take. Customers should understand and obey the coverage, eligibility, terms & conditions of the travel insurance that they applied.
  4. Please keep the official receipt as an evidence of payment, in case of any refund may be occurred under special situation.
  5. Customers must present any required promotional documents upon the time of reservation to enjoy any designated special promotions or discounts. The eligibility of such discount must be approved by the staff of our company.
  6. Special requirement below will be applied to customers who aged under 18.
    [Aged below 15] He or she must be accompanied by parents or guardian.
    [Aged 15 or above] He or she don't need to be accompanied by parents or guardian. However, an agreement signed by his/her parents or guardian should be provided and a copy of purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance should be presented upon the reservation.

Tour Fee Including

Unless specified, air tickets, hotel accommodations, transportations, meals, entertainment programmes and tour guide fees stated in the itinerary have been included into the tour fee.

  1. Air tickets : Economy class roundtrip group tickets.
  2. Hotel accommodations : Designated hotel or hotels with same class as stated in the itinerary. Basically, customer must have to share the room with another customer if assigned with a double room. However, other room sharing arrangement may be applied to particular tour. Please ask the staff of our company upon reservation.
  3. Transportations : As stated in the itinerary.
  4. Meals : As stated in the itinerary.
  5. Entertainment programmes : All entertainment programmes and activities stated in the itinerary.
  6. Tour guide : For tours guaranteed to accompany with a tour guide. The tour guide is a qualified local tour who speaks Chinese (Mandarin) or English.

Tour Fee Not Including

  1. Application fee for applying travel documents, visas and vaccine injections or medical reports.
  2. Tips giving to tour guide, escorts or drivers.
  3. Airport tax, port usage tax, fuel surcharges, airline insurance tax and overweight charges.
  4. Charges for any overweight luggage or disqualified or prohibited items.
  5. Any personal consumption (eg. Liquors, soft drinks, laundry, telephone fee, internet connection fee)
  6. Any additional entertainment programmes or activities have not mentioned in the itinerary.
  7. Any additional charges due to private reasons, traffic congestions or delays, strikes, climate reasons or other situations which our company has no control at all.
  8. Application fee for travel insurance, medical insurance or luggage insurance.

Other Special Situations

  1. The tour fee and additional charges occurred are based on the exchange rate on day.
  2. Our company reserves the right to adjust the tour fee and additional charges occurred according to the fluctuation on fuel or exchange rate.
  3. All hotel accommodations are arranged according to the itinerary. However our company reserves the right to change the hotel accommodation in case of the actual situation. Alternative nearby hotels or hotels with same class may be arranged under exhibition period, snow peak seasons or any other special situations.
  4. In case the sightseeing site is closed during festivals, public holidays or any other circumstances, our company shall provide you alternative arrangements.
  5. If customer is not willing to share the room with another customer, an additional charge for arranging single room will be applied.
  6. If customer fails to departure due to visa problem, our company reserves the right of requiring additional charges.
  7. Unless specified, no discount will be applied to local tours. Customer has to arrange international air tickets, domestic air tickets or any other necessary transportation.
  8. Our company has no responsibility if a customer is rejected for immigration due to personal backgrounds even he/she is holding valid visas and travel documents.
  9. >All activities scheduled in the itinerary are well designed and arranged according to actual situation. Customers should obey the instructions and arrangements required by local staff. Moreover, customers are encouraged to evaluate themselves based on age, health condition and weather condition to determine their participation. Customer need to bear their own risks to take part in the tour. Consultation from medical professionals should be obtained if necessary.
  10. The schedule is arranged based on the arrangement by the airline and local tour operator. However, our company reserves the right to adjust the schedule according to the actual situation. Customer cannot reject the re-arrangement or quit the tour base on such reasons.

Cancellation And Refund

  1. Our company reserves the right to cancel the tour in case of, including but not limited to, inadequate customers to confirm the tour or any other force majeure. Our company will make corresponding arrangement as regulated by the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (“TIC” thereafter).
  2. Special cancellation and refund policy may be applicable to particular travel products, please read the related policy stated on the itinerary.
  3. Unless agreed by our company in advance, if customer transfers his/her participating allotment to other persons without permission, all risks and results should be borne by the customer themselves. Travel insurance may not be able to cover.
  4. If customer decides to quit the tour or does not follow the scheduled itinerary or activities on their wish, customer is considered to abandon the right to participate in such activities and no refund will be applied.
  5. Our company will calculate the cancellation charge as below for all cancellations requested by customer no matter any reason.
  6. Ordinary Travel Products

    Notified day before departure: 14days or above before
    Change on participants: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Change on participating tour or date: A handling fee of HK$500 each time will be applicable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 25% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: 10-14 days before
    Change on participants: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Change on participating tour or date: A handling fee of HK$1,000 each time will be applicable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 50% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: Within 10 days before
    Change on participants: No change is acceptable.
    Change on participating tour or date: No change is acceptable.
    Cancellation: 100% of the tour fee will be deducted.

    “YOKOSO Japan Tour” 1-day tour (with tour guide and tour bus)

    Notified day before departure: 8-10 days before
    Change on participants: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Change on participating tour or date: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 20% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: 2-7 days before
    Change on participants: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Change on participating tour or date: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 30% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: The day before
    Change on participants: No change is acceptable.
    Change on participating tour or date: No change is acceptable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 40% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: On-day
    Change on participants: No change is acceptable.
    Change on participating tour or date: No change is acceptable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 50% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: No-show
    Cancellation: 100% of the tour fee will be deducted.

    “YOKOSO Japan Tour” 2-day or above tour (with tour guide and tour bus)

    Notified day before departure: 11-14 days before
    Change on participants: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Change on participating tour or date: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 20% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: Within 10 days before
    Same as the policy applied for “YOKOSO Japan tour” 1-day tour (with tour guide and tour bus)

    “YOKOSO Japan Tour” 2-day or above tour (with no tour guide and no tour bus)

    Notified day before departure: 15-20 days before
    Change on participants: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Change on participating tour or date: A handling fee of HK$100 each time will be applicable.
    Cancellation: No refund on deposit or 20% of the tour fee (whichever is higher) will be deducted.

    Notified day before departure: Within 14 days before
    Same as the policy applied for “YOKOSO Japan tour” 2-day or above tour (with tour guide and tour bus)

    All changes or cancellation requests should be done by written form or by e-mail. (Not including departure date and notified date). No cancellation other means (e.g. by phone) will be accepted. (Negotiable for private tours.)

  7. For all requests on changing destinations or participating date, we will treat them as cancellation. However, our company will put our best efforts to adapt to the needs of customers.
  8. Some designated promotional tours, additional tours or tour travelling with charter flights may apply different cancellation policy (e.g. 100% cancellation charge upon successful application). Please refer to the explanation stated on the itinerary.
  9. Based on the guideline from TIC, our company has the right to cancel, change, extend or shorten any particular travel items before or after the departure when compelled by circumstances reason. Our company has not responsibility for any additional payment or loss occurred due to the case. Compelled reasons are including, but not limited to, warfare, political uncertainty, natural disaster, pandemic, severe weather condition, technical failure of transportations, sudden change in schedule or timetable by transportation organization or labour strikes.
  10. Cancellation policy stated above will be applicable in case of the customer cannot obtain a valid visa on the time of departure no matter for any reasons.
  11. Different cancellation policy may apply to cruise travel products. Please refer to the cancellation policy stated by the Cruise company.

Responsibility

  1. All arrangements on transportation (including airplanes, ferries, cruisers, trains and buses), accommodations, meals, sightseeing items and entertainment programmes are not owned, controlled or manipulated by our company. All tickets, exchange vouchers, receipts, contracts or coupons related to all arrangements said above are issued by the actual service providers according to their terms and conditions. All losses occurred due to , but not limited to, schedule delays, missing luggages, injuries or deaths or property losses should be claimed and negotiated to the actual service providers who owned, managed or manipulated such transportations, accommodations, restaurants, sightseeing spots or entertainment programmes, based on the related terms and conditions.
  2. Our company is merely an agent for airlines, cruisers, hotels, overseas academic tours organizers or other travel service providers. Our company and sub-distributing travel agencies have no responsibility for all kind of losses or additional fares occurred to customers who joined the tour based on the itinerary regulated by company due to, but not limited to, any injuries or deaths, natural disasters, mechanical failures, traffic jams or delays, fire, labour strikes, warfare, political uncertainty or changes in local government laws.
  3. Under a compelled circumstances, our company and its agent have the right to change, replace, extend or shorten the original programme stated in the itinerary or adjust the actual fare of such programme. Customer should accept such changes without objection.
  4. Ferry tickets or air tickets included in the tour must be used by accompanying with the tour. For any stay-behind requests, our company will put our greatest effort to arrange the ferry tickets or air tickets as requested. However, any request for cancellation or quitting from the tour by the customer will not be acceptable no matter such ferry tickets or air tickets are confirmed or not. All necessary additional fares occurred due to the stay-behind should be borne by customers on its own.
  5. If customer decide to quit the tour and give up to join the remaining itinerary, the customer should take its own responsibility after quitting. Our company and its agent take no responsibility to it.
  6. No refund requests will be accepted once the booking is confirmed and paid in Hong Kong for any unused air tickets / ferry tickets / hotels or sightseeing programmes, as such tickets or bookings are reserved under a group basis.
  7. Customer should obey and respect, but not limited to, all the laws, social norms and taboos, as well as all regulations on immigration and transportations of the destination country or area. Our company has no responsibility to customers who break the laws and liable for punishment.
  8. Customer should obey and maintain a reasonable behavior standard during the tour. No aggressive, offensive, threatening behaviors to other customers are allowed. Customers must obey and follow the guidance from the tour guide or other authorized personnel on about the safety issue or guidelines in order to follow the schedule reasonably. If customer refuse to obey and follow such reasonable behavior standard or safety instructions or measures during the tour, he/she may be forced to stop participating into the tour any further. If such case happens, the customer who has been ordered to stop participating the tour will not be refunded at any circumstances. Our company will take no more responsible to the customer from the time he/she was ordered to stop participating the tour.
  9. In case of severe weather condition, sea conditions or any unforeseeable or compelled situations that prohibit the vessel to embark, no compensation due to such reasons will be applicable from the ferry company and our company. Customers have no rejection to such decision.
  10. According to the data protection principles of personal data regulated by the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, all personal data obtained from customers will not be provided to any third party.
  11. In case of any losses or damage of travel documents, our company recommends customers to keep a duplicate copy of its own essential documents like passport and identity documents which passport number and issuing department should be clearly shown, visas, receipts, travel insurance policies to his/her relatives or friends that could be contacted easily. Also, a duplicate copy of contact information for relatives or friends of the customers should be submitted to the tour guide and our company in advance, in order to let our company and related assistance service could offer assistance in case of any emergency.

Responsibility Of Airlines

  1. According to the guidelines from airlines, the air ticket is invalid if it was used without according to the designated sequential order. If customers is unable to depart with designated flight according to the itinerary due to any personal reasons but wish to keep the remaining flight seats (domestic and return journey), airlines reserve the right to charge any additional handling fare or to require the customer to pay for whole set of the air tickets.
  2. Airline takes responsible according to their terms and conditions. It is not necessary for them to take responsible if customers fail to take the flight physically.

KNT (Hong Kong) Limited strictly follow the instructions regulated by TIC. For travel products which is applicable to travel industry compensation fund (“TICF” thereafter), the official receipt should be franked with a levy showing 0.15% of the total outbound fare paid.

  1. Outbound fare protection – an ex gratia payment equivalent to 90% of the loss of outbound fare (commonly arisen from the default of a licensed travel agent) and
  2. Package Tour Accident Contingency Fund Scheme – it offers financial relief to outbound travellers on package tours who are injured or killed in accidents whilst touring aboard. However, such scheme should not be treated as alternative choice of buying an appropriate travel insurance. For a throughout protection, customers are advised to buy an appropriate travel insurance for its own sake. For more information, please contact the TICF Management Board Secretariat at 3151-7945.

To protect your rights, our company suggests all customers should keep the official receipt franked with a TICF levy at their relative or friends in Hong Kong, in order to claim for compensation once if any accidents happened.

According to the regulation of TIC, an outbound traveler is a person who has paid to a licensed travel agent for any two or all of the following service : (i) carriage from Hong Kong to places outside Hong Kong (ii) accommodation outside Hong Kong (iii) arrangements for an activity outside Hong Kong (by a licensed travel agent). One-day tour which starts and ends at a place outside Hong Kong is not treated as an outbound fare defined by the regulation. It is not eligible for the definition of “outbound travellers” under TICF's protection. No levy will be franked on the official receipt in this case.

** Advice to all customers – It is strongly recommend that all customers should buy a personal comprehensive travel insurance based on your personal needs. (The maximum reimbursement for medical is advised to be HK$1 million) If customers decided not to buy a travel insurance, they are traveling aboard Hong Kong bearing their own risk for any loss, injuries or deaths. Our company takes no responsible to them.
